It is quite terrible to observe most of the people around being so un-interested in news developments despite being into journalistic field. Here is a team of print section responsible to deal with news developments of the day and take it to masses. And, the same team shuts its mind and eyes as if it’s not its assigned homework like any school kid.

People responsible to deal with hard-core political news have no embarrassment while stating they read newspapers when time permits! Even when there are press conference being held by leaders like Advani or Prime Minster or Barack Obama, they show least interest.

Some of these people are quite sincere and inquisitive despite work load. I feel so refreshing whenever I notice them taking initiative and seeking elaborate information or trying to understand strange topics or issues. The discussion part, though, remains missing.

God save me, take me to a better place!

I think I must share what is killing me inside…..

I believe, the company should wait to expect anything extra in performance and responsibilities from me, if it is so compelled to not give a genuine motivation to a candidate, who has maintained his distinction by sincerity and dedication to work in all aspects for almost five years.

With due respect to this company’s evaluation method of one’s potential and worth, at present I find my present rewards as affront to my education, caliber and performance.

I refuse to beg to get what I deserve. I know I have developed proper reasons to seek much more than this company can offer me after every the ‘mandatory’ ‘one-year span’.

I know it is futile to expect too much from a company that is yet to know what to write even on an experience certificate beyond ‘Sub-Editor’ position, irrespective of job profile one maintained.

I thank you for personally suggesting me that I need to explore other options beyond this fucking company’s assignment. There are surely many freelance alternatives that I could contribute to besides this work.

And, I will. For you know, I need them. And, I have the guts to get them in no time.

It felt so mediocre rather disgusting of Mr.Dixit when he opted to tell 21-year-old kiddo girl Ayesha: “Veeru and Main (himself) have slept together once”. I wonder if he would like ever if someone of his age (46) preferred speaking of such ‘special times’ to his daughter when she would be Ayesha’s age, no mater ‘in lighter vein’.


I feel very bad I couldn’t attend Rashpal’s call in morning. We planned to meet over a cup of tea in CP.

If the word Obscenity has been defined under IPC or not, was the topic of discussion that within no time led to argument with me and Nisha. It triggered high volume objection by me when my version was termed by her as ‘my personal opinion’ followed by the advice “you need to read in detail to know the fact”. It was amusing to find she sent me her study paper that she perhaps made during PG diploma. It is a paper not even the examiner takes it seriously.




*I marvel how well-written is The Hindu newspaper. It is a great help for learners like us in journalism. Today, I have started to enjoy its op-ed pages for learning language and picking up new or commonly used phrases of the top class journalist and writers.

*I approached Shraddha of the entertainment cum DLP section to teach me the basic. She was quite helpful

Being into a news world but staying unrelated to news is how I can described people around me at workplace. It’s surprising to notice everyday so many individuals living in news world but least bothered, happy or excited about news developments of national or international significance.

It’s interesting I have many people around who are just not bothered about news developments. They just wish to perform and perish without showing any keenness to show its reasons or impact or anything related to it.

It’s my fault that I have not risen enough to be into a society where people are like-minded and equally passionate about news world.

Our Chief Editor pointed out my casual approach towards spelling. I didn’t maintain uniformity in spellings of Jordan. The other spelling was of BJP spokesman Javedkar. In one of the sentences I wrote Javadekar.

I welcome his point for my personal improvement.

Boss wants me to be responsible for everything once he leaves after 8 hours job. I wonder I volunteered to do national stories. But he wants me to replace him as Babu-in-charge after him till late evening and also train newcomers. I wonder how come I be made an in-charge and check others’ stories that I am yet to learn about.

I don’t need to explaining my person views and their reasons to any soft minded individual around.

It pains to see Malegaon case being shifted to MCOCA. I don’t know but its shocking as a Hindu but not as an Indian.


It’s unpleasant not surprising to find a mediocre boss. I think it’s a blessing in disguise for individuals like me who seek to be distinct.

Obama’s swearing-in (July 21)

I covered Obama's swearing in all alone at night and did ning stories on it. It felt significant to him considering he left for home early despite it being a hugely important event for the company and his print section.

Secondly, he expected only one story from me but i opted to multiply that number by 9. For him and others it felt all the more important because till recently i only did features and just started doing national stories for a try.

This news about me was shared with Piyush who also felt nice. My boss held my hand and bowed to me in thanks in his cabin and later offered me that refreshment thrice in front of all in appreciation.

The year has started as a special moment for me. I struck one story in Qatar Tribune. It felt special as I made a non-story a story. My news editor questioned what was that in a story despite being told the topic—a school from brothel room for sex workers’ children.

I am thankful he allowed it and the Chief didn’t colour it too much.

It is always interesting to remember how one spent his childhood. I prefer recounting those moments and joys that made my childhood worth calling it a celebration of life in true sense. I would call it a revisit to childhood.

The games we played were different than usually heard by kids these days. They gave reason to enjoy childhood beyond television or radio world. Computers were unheard of thing till I turned 18, an adult by election commission’s definition.

Diet, exercise can prevent diabetes: Expert

Ludhiana: One should be careful to take low-calorie, low-fat and high-fibre diet to keep normal blood sugar level. Complications of diabetes can be prevented with proper diet, exercise -- like walking, jogging and performing yoga -- and medical care. Prior family history, obesity, lack of exercise, high lipids, and hypertension contribute much towards incidence of diabetes, said Surendra Gupta, Managing director, Diabetes Free World, and secretary, National Integrated Medical Association (NIMA) here. Addresing the general body meeting of the SBI pensioners association on symptoms, causes and prevention of diabetes, Dr.Gupta said that Diabetes mellitus was a global killer and presently 33 million Indians were suffering from the disease. As per reports, by 2025 every 2nd diabetic in the world will be an Indian, said Surendra Gupta, Managing director, Diabetes Free World, and secretary, National Integrated Medical Association (NIMA) here.
